Hit top hits include "If Tomorrow Never Comes" ( 1989 ), "Unanswered Prayers" ( 1990 ), "Shameless" ( 1991 ) and "More Than a Memory" ( 2007 ). In total he has had 20 number 1's in the US Country charts. In 2000 he made an announcement that he was going to retire but in October last year he announced that he was coming out of retirement to do weekend performances at Steve Wynn's Encore Hotel in Las Vegas in 2010.
