Tamara Faye Bakker Messner is best known for her time with Jim Baker ( Married ) the American televangelist, when she co-hosted with him on The PTL Club from 1976 to 1987. In 1987 following Scrutiny by the The Charlotte Observer newspaper revelations of accounting fraud brought about his imprisonment. Following his imprisonment and because of allegations of infidelity with Jessica Hahn Tammy Fay divorced Jim Baker and later married Roe Messner. She was diagnosed with colon cancer in 1996 and later with inoperable lung cancer and in 2007 after 11 years she lost the battle against the cancer and passed away.
