Known For :

Best remembered as the Bandleader and creator of the special sound that is the Glenn Miller Orchestra. From 1939 to 1943 was one of the best-selling recording artists. Some of his memorable songs included In the Mood, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Tuxedo Junction, Moonlight Serenade,and Pennsylvania 6-5000. He was reported and presumed dead following the disappearance of his plane on route to France to entertain U.S. troops during World War II. The Glenn Miller Orchestra sound was a mix between jazz and swing and now more than 60 years later his music is unique and recognized by young and old the world over.
