Born: Benjamin Siegel 28th February 1906, Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York


Died: 20th June 1947 ,Beverly Hills, California.




Known For : Bugsy Siegel is best known as an American gangster from the prohibition era who was into protection, gambling and bootlegging and with those crimes also a murderer of other crime syndicates or innocent bystanders. He had ties to the Genovese mafia crime family throuugh Charles "Lucky" Luciano. In many ways he was also the man who opened up Las Vegas and took the first of the hotels "The Flamingo" under mafia control, It was under his control that "The Flamingo" was finished and opened, but at large cost overuns which in turn led to his assasination ( As they say if you live by the gun, you will die by the gun ) . Although "The Flamingo" has had major alterations, updates and rebuilding a memorial to Bugsy Siegel is still at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino located near the wedding chapel.
